I have to agree with BlueOceans

As for my own input, you need to remove the claps, and kick the reverbs up by at least 40%, and the overall base on choruses by 75%.

Why do I say those values? Play your piece over a surround sound...as it currently is right now...you're surround sound would probably kick you in the nuts and BEG you for more reverb and bass :P

Cmere a little closer...allow me to kick you square in the balls with my Combat Boots!!
God...I remember this song being played after my highschool graduation, and that got me interested in Linkin Park...after listening to the whole album, start to finish...this made me realize what a fucking EPIC band these guys had...and the music screamed Logic and Truth...

Your take puts the Original and Reanimation piece's to a pedestal of Glory!
You have received a 5/5 from me for making a timeless classic, relive it's glory days :P You honestly should submit your work to them and see what their take is!

Digs deep into your ear-drums and refuses to let go! Just like Linkin Park used to do with Hybrid Theory!

Lyrics will get you my 5's!

Taking me back to my glory days of military service...and when this album first hit the shelves...was in line just to get it!...but luckily made formation in time lmao!

Oh the days that went by using this as a hype song after getting my ass outta the field after 2 weeks of training troops and doing FTX's...yep yep!

All my 5 r belong to u

VERY impressive!
Personally, I loved Hybrid Theory, and Reanimation's takes on the Originals!
To be perfectly honest, your version is a HELL of a lot better.

You start off strong with everything....but once the guitar picks up...only gripe is that it continues to the Right Speaker only. Need to fix that, as it's quite deafening on only one side where as the rest of the instruments are universally played throughout the speakers. Everything else about this track is perfect really, no flaws, no clipping...and your hi-hats are a little low as well.

Fix up the guitar, and raise the volume on the hi's a smidge, resubmit and you'll earn my 5s and a download :D

If you're looking for a proper genre to place this in, I would have to say Industrial and even as a video game track. Why video game? Listen to it carefully, and then hit up YT, and look for the Blaster Master soundtrack, Stage 7. Your hype's sound remotely close to that, and its a GOOD thing :P Nostalgia yo! Then there's a feel to Basilisk's Run from Ninja Gaiden...don't ask me why, but that's just how this track speaks to me :D

I can't believe I missed that missing guitar. Thanks for pointing that out. When I make the music I wear head phones. When I do my final mixing I play them through loud through speakers and I forgot to turn the left side back on before I exported the file.

As for the hihats/cymbals I increased the volume and equo settings a bit higher. I'm very picky with them cause they tend to wash the whole track on me lol Yeah, I gotta to brush up on my compression skills.

Awesome old school games btw. If I could remake something it would probably be the megaman series.

A good rendition of the 1979 all time classic! All that your missing is the scream of the alien at the end :P
Defiantly makes me want to pull out my Alien Trilogy pack and relive my adolescence!
Very well done, the smoothness, the fantastic atmosphere, and the overall piece itself...make me want mooooooore :D

NO WAY! The Original SSB will NEVER be BEATEN!

However, this piece does give Nintendo a run for their money, I will say that much :D

Your mastering and timing needs a little more refining on this piece. If you were to cram the piano together in the beginning as it were to sound with the original...NAILED!

Your ending being 9 seconds long is a track killer for me, but you caught the feel of punchout, and NOW i want to drag my NES outta my basement and play this game...THANKS!!!! >.<

+4 to you

Barzoom responds:

HAAAAY.

Yeah this arrangement was for a Youtube video where my brother was doing a promo for his professional wrestling event (cosplay wrestling, he was wrestling as Little Mac!), he wanted the piano gimmick at the beginning and stuff. The mixing was rushed just to shit it out and it clearly shows ;_;.

THANKS FOR THE REVIEW BRUD.

Actually...this isn't too bad of a take on good ole Emerald Hill.
Does bring out the 90s game feel with today's modern twist, and that's actually a good thing. Seen someone try to put a metal feel to this zone's music...and I wanted to slap the hell out of them as it did N! O! T! feel like a sonic game track...

YOU on the other hand, pulled it off nicely. Suggestion: Avoid cutting your tracks out at the end, consider fading. :-)

Barzoom responds:

Hay hay hay again!

Thanks for the good vibes :). A lot of the music I prepare for newgrounds are more of a demonstration or a performance that just dies out whenever I feel like it. I haven't consciously made the decision to fade things out or make a proper ending because I'm lazy :'D.

Like Metal, Rock, BGM Revisions & Mixes. Comical Flashes, Parody's, and anything that will entertain me. I will critique to the fullest, add some ideas, pointers, and maybe even assist you in creation of high quality projects.
