*Hands you a piece of Fruit Cake that has been aged 31 years*
Seriously...this needs to be thrown into a room full of "hip-hopper's" on 200% volume!
THAT is how sexy this piece is.
Need I say more?

Such a megaman feel to this piece! Takes me back to my Mega Man 4 button mashing days.
The Bass is a little outta place, I will give HYB that...however, I do not agree with him about the master volume at 0:42. The clash of everything is what gave this quick piece it's flare.
What has me interested the most about this piece, would have to be the samples. Not often do you find quality 8/16-bit samples out there that would mash together this well. How many sound gates were you using? My ears pick up on 2 at the least...or am I mistaken?
Its been a long day...12:33 eastern...cut me some slack O_o
Dude! THIS is the shit right here that I am talking about! The message I sent to your inbox is a clear indication of exactly what I am looking for in regards to your work! So you pumped shit through a single sound gate...who the fuck cares?! The melody came out scrunchy and clispy!...erm...Crunchy, and clean!...yea that will work!
You know how many bands and various artists are starting to take a turn towards the Gaming Genre of music here lately? If you listen to a lot of the stuff in the Rock and Metal department, you can feel the Devil May Cry and Assassin's Creed style of synths, strings, lines, etc! You have to have a sharp ear for these kind of things, and you know me...I have such an ear!
The flux in the beginning between speakers, then the dual audio bass kick REALLY caught my ear, then along comes the Lead, Drums, and good ole "chippy" sounds. Everything's flowing nicely in this piece. What more do you want? My size 11 combat boot to your nuts for being overly-hard on yourself? Geez man!
Keep this kinda shit pumping through your veins and outta your head, not to mention your fingers...and you'll do JUST FINE if I get you that which I mentioned in the Inbox fucker :P
*downloads and sets as ringtone*
WHAT?!....
O_o
Venting one's depression into musical form usually brings out the inner beast, and in this case...the blue flame of Burn7.
Given this piece was released almost 5 years ago...going back through time and reliving some of your more hyped, and downed times can revitalize what has been lost...and based on what I am hearing here from you recently...kinda feels like you lost your flare to reach deeper into your soul and yank out the sorrowful beast that created such a track!
The vocals really bring this piece to life, and keep the feel of it generalized which makes it an instant download! I don't know why I didn't see this piece all those years ago, but damn am I glad that I found it!
The intro drags on a little more than what I am used to hearing from you and your older work, but the essential build-up is relative to what comes at 1:10 and onward so it seems. With the blast at 1:28, really got me hooked and lets just say that the utilization of layers here is impressive as FUCK! I know you didn't care for this piece, but you should Nut-Punch yourself, because frankly ~ they flow nicely together!
Moving on ~ The drop at 2:30 was nice, as well as the bass kicks...made my Cat look up, and you should know by now...if my cat looks up, its gooooood! I feel some Sonic 2 in there BIG time starting at 2:51! VERY nice touch bro! A good way to always captivate your listeners is to utilize change-ups (Which you have been doing for YEARS!) and even throw in some tidbits of classic games from the what...80s and 90s? HA!
The drop at 4:20 and fadeout made me wonder exactly what the fuck you were thinking...as that kinda "Burned" my bridge, but the silent pickup made me shut my fingers down from taking half a star.
To be honest, if you do the Ninja Gaiden project that you have in the works similar to this piece...I can see it being front paged! You have quite the following, and a "silent fanbase" that would probably go ape shit crazy over such a piece :P But then again...I'm just that One guy ;-)
Just going through your library of beasts my friend, and I happened upon this sliver...
You know what would have been epic? To find this piece in Skyrim or Elder Scrolls online for them lovely dragon slaying sessions...hell, even as far as some of the end game battles (Mirrak, Alduin, and that bastard vampire)...just how this tune catches my ears!
Love the excessively abused shreds, and that BASS kicks through soo well that it makes me yearn for MOAR!
Then...there's the fact that it had to end...(cries a proverbial river)
You should go back to your roots with some of the new stuff your working on, and maybe! MAYBE! Consider a Collab with a few fellow metal heads to put out something Retro, but "holy fuck give me more!" of a tune.
Tis all I haz 2 sey!
+5
While it carries well, and holds the overall feel of a retro game from NES days...I do have one gripe, and that would be it's length. Sure, a short loop always plays out nicely, but with particular piece, you could have easily extended it and gave it a chorus, thus improving your score :-)
Do not feel discouraged, but take this nice piece and build upon it!
Take it from 8-bit, up to 16/32 and then see how it feels afterwards. There's always surprises to behold in music as you never know exactly what you're going to get as a finished product unless you specifically aim for something.
With creation, failure is a course we all must take. Perfection, should never be achieved as there will be no further room for growth!
Truth be told, I was going to extend the song with a chorus and then bridge but I got 'frustrated' and decided to just finish it instead of sleeping on it. The reason I keep making 'chip tunes' is because it allows me to focus on making good music rather than spending a bigilion hours on sound designing. Don't get me wrong though, I love sound designing, and I would argue and say that I'm really good at it. But it got to a point where I really just needed to start making songs and not sounds. Witch is ironic because this is a twenty second loop. Making some music is better than non i suppose though. All that aside though I do appreciate your review and the time it too you to compose it. I will in the future take the time and effort to make a whole song rather than cheeping out.
THERE'S THE EAR-TINGLING MASTER!
Bout damn time we hear something new out of you...How long has it been since your last post?
(Taps Fingers on Desk...repeatedly, annoyingly)
The lead could use some fine-tuning as i'm picking up on some echo (or was that intentional?) , and the drums are a smidge over-powering. symbols/hi-hats are a little on the low side and could use a minor volume boost in various places, namely at 2:00 - 2:18, would really make them shine bright!
The melody feels like it derives from some old BFMV and KSE...with a splash of FFDP...or is that just me?
I eagerly await your finished piece
