Overly repetitive.
No real feel, and just doesn't do much for anything to be honest. The beat was a little too simplistic...literally. Listening to your previous work...this would have to be (in my own personal opinion) your worst piece...and its a career killer _._
Im mean, I know...but maybe consider removing this one and fixing it up a little bit more then re-submitting it to us?

daigonite responds:

I don't like this piece but I post everything I do so that people know at least what I'm making.

I think you're exaggerating a little though frankly.

You kinda killed your piece at 0:19...
The sound just doesn't fit your build-up at all in any way shape or form.
Your ending makes up for the failure midsection. I don't mean to be rude, but the whole track in general belongs in the heap of incomplete loops that don't even loop correctly.

I can see you tried...but maybe refine this a little bit more? Please?!.... -_-

ChroniusNightmare responds:

Idk sir. I think the four people who've already downloaded this has a different opinion than you. Not everything has to be a certain way for people to like. We are all different in that respect.

Music from the homeland!
Flows effortlessly, and sounds equally great!
This takes me back to my Quest 64 days (given that the music IS in .mid sadly)...city of Normoon *shrugs*

Brilliant piece and keep up the good work!

Mattashi responds:

Thank you! :)

You know what I hear in this piece? City of Ancients - FF7....from intro - 1:25
For That, -1/2 star...you forgot to state your inspiration!!!! Q.Q
I do enjoy the atmosphere this piece does bring forward, and the slow pickup after 1:26 is sexy.
Keep up the good work and lets see what else you can do to finish off this product of soothingly stylish track.

Halindir responds:

I've never been too interested in Final Fantasy games, so I doubt that was ever part of my inspiration. It's just a coincidence.
Thank you very much for your comment, Lord Shawn!

You know what? I should slap you with a Bass guitar for the hell of it...
Why? Because you got a smidge of talent presenting itself here and what you need to do now is listen to this puppy in a loop.

I see what you did there...and that short little pause between loads = great.
Lengthen this little @#$%head of a sample and keep those pauses coming as they make a nice build-up.

AJtheRipper responds:

Thank you.... I think!

Haha

Talent? Yes.
Skill? Yes.
Earshot for the Original? For Sure.
Do I Expect More? Yup.

Very well done techno driven mix you have here of one of DBZ's best themes. What you could have done is tossed in some various sound effects to bring out the true feeling of the melody. I know that there are rules against adding various sound effects, but regardless you have done a good job to this piece. I do have one suggestion, clean up your ending a little bit more. I suggest having it fade out, and have your beginning fade inward to make for a smooth looping and a repeatable play on someones play list. Keep in mind, that not all mixers and writers like to do this, but with this kind of piece, it would be expected.

4/5 5/5 :) Keep it up!

KumoKan responds:

I'll definitely toy with those ideas, while trying to implement some ideas of my own.

Thanks for the input!

Fresh start to a fresh year. Crispy, Clean, and heavy. Just the way I like it, and your work never ceases to amaze me. You did an excellent job here, but I do have one suggestion...consider adding a heavy solo around 1:45 - 2:15. Your pace change at 2:45 was a very nice touch and gave the piece its general, dark and devious feel that I am used to hearing out of your work.

But, a solo could be a great addition here...with some excitingly heavy rifts. Sure, the solo might cut into your prolonged ending, but knowing you...you are more than capable of making it mix together in a sexy way.
Just an idea, no need for the rest of my fellow reviewers to get hostile :D I still love this lil slice of heaven.

Naildown55 responds:

I may do just that when I re-record it in the future \m/

My ears are tingling with nostalgia!
Does that say anything?! It better or you deserve my size 11 combat boot upside your head \m/

Has an 80s hair & metal feel to it, and the touch of "folk tunage" just makes it even better!

Good stuff you got going here, I just wish the tempo was a little more upbeat.
That's all I have to really say about this piece :-D

lhceist41 responds:

Thanks Shawn.
Well yeah I just had the feeling to put those violins into this song.
Mainly because I've listened alot to Elvenking before I did this piece :)

Keep rocking!

*feels the emotion put into this piece*
You however, need to loop it. That would be my only urk, gut wrenching flaw I see with this sexiness :D

rtnario responds:

Hahaha, well I was never into making loops, but it's easy to loop this song anyway XD Thank you!

Uh...what do you have me listening to here? Sounds like sooo many classic 8 bit games it's not even funny. When you get to be my age (29...and a gamer since the age of 4, no lies) you catch up on those subtle hints of some of the classics. Its not a bad thing, in fact its what I look for when listening to remixes and various revisions to some of my favorite games. Fresh work is always welcomed, and this piece in particular has perked my interests.

There is one flaw I found with your piece, that I suggest you consider revamping as quickly as possible: Looping.

General Looping for any track under 2:30 should be considered to keep your audience captivated and make them want more then what you currently have to offer. It's a sexy piece, and I loved the listen.

For that, I thank your for the ear tingling ^_^

SmallArmsMusic responds:

I actually made it a point to avoid looping in this particular song because I've always thought of it as nothing more than a musical shortcut, and I've seen these results on a previous piece which was incredibly complex. Not for the average quicky-listener, I guess.

I'll be sure to incorporate a consistent support melody in the next production to see how that works out - I suspect it'll work well.

I'll just have to find a good compromise between what I want and what people want to hear. If people don't like it, then there's no reason to make it. Thanks for the tip
