Your hi's are a bit overpowering, your secondary and bass are a bit shadowed by the lead.
Your snare has a bit of fluctuation that is heavily noticed through a iPhone's beautiful surround sound speakers...then there's the sound system I use through-out my house, and you can clearly tell everything above.

Your cover is spot on and has a nifty unique touch, but I'd take a look at your mastering one more time and touch up the volume in sections and even go a bit more..."violent" with your bass and secondary in certain areas to give it more of a natural feel, and reign true as an epic cover.

FylypFimpossible responds:

Thanks! Waiting for your analyze :D But I want let you to know that I was recording this cover above year ago, even before my "Heavy" cover of Linkin Park, after this time I did not have willings to polish mix to the edge, so treat this with small amount of distance.

Sounds like something from the PS2 megaman collection, and I used to just clean house to the MM2 and MM6 stage music back in those days of being a puppy...wett behind the ears...and all that mess.

I like what you did with this piece, but you could have thrown in your own unique flare like you do all the time...surprised I didn't hear it in this piece this time...you losing your touch there ferret? Don't make me give you a taste of human blood and throw you into a berserk animal rage ^_^

Keep up the good work, but don't forget you uniqueness man..,.

EliteFerrex responds:

Lol, remember man. This is a track I made 8 years ago. I've since learned much. xD

(stares blankly)
The hell am I listening to? This sounds like something of a mash-up between Yoshi's Story, Sonic 3 (retro), and a few of those corny puzzle games on the NES...then the twist to something more...to date half way through was a nice touch. The ambiance and soothing feels, made me...feel. But with your turn-around back to the mash-up just threw me out the window (chuckle).

I liked it regardless. Probably something i'd use for an alarm when I have to get up at the ass crack of dawn for work. With that comes 4 stars :-)

ZeldaSonicFan2004 responds:

LOL, coincidentally, 4 is my favorite number. Thanks!

The beat is ALL over the place, but it plays out sooo well!
The Dramatic melody change at 2:00 - 2:48 was epic!

DanJohansen responds:

Haha thanks man, yeah the drums change up a lot in this track, it was fun to create though, rock on!

Sounds like something from a few retro style platformers...reaching as far back as the late 80s...but with a modern day touch.
Then of course, with the feels of some of your rifts, I'd go as far as to say I'm detecting some MMX style beats incorporated in there.
Everything's meshing well, and the atmosphere created by this piece would fit into a few collabs we have out there.

I'm curious to what you could do with some of those old school 80s video game beats...hell, even some of the marvelous late 80s and early 90s cartoons that entertained us as kids (insert troll face), and what about some of those loverly surfacing punk/metal/hair thrashing bands? Hmmmmm?

Making me wonder here Dan, and that's a good thing!

DanJohansen responds:

Hi man! I DIG 80's/90's cartoon intros a lot, like Silver Hawks intro, Swat Kats, TMNTurtles etc etc. Tons of great parts in those intros. Glad you enjoyed the track man! Appreciate the write up! \m/

As Bad stated, you have your own unique style here and I am sure those...DragonForce followers would say you're trying to "mimic" their style to some bullshit extent...I say NOPE~

This for sure has it's own unique feel and the variables, that lead, the drums, and the sheer power of the tune...Uhhhh YUP!
SO!...when's the next collab comin' up? I know you gotta have at least SOMETHING in store for the DBZ parody collab comin' up.

If not...welllllll...get to it? ^_^

DanJohansen responds:

Awesome review to wake up to today, Shawn, I was def a bit inspired by early Malmsteen and Symphony X stuff for the starting riff, but confident I made it my own. Glad you dug the track! Haven't even heard of this whole DBZ parody thing haha. Rock on!

Madness worthy alright!
The intro had me...wondering, then the pickup just had me hooked.
Loved the fact you kept it overly chaotic and violent...brutal at that too.

DESHIEL responds:

Madness is never calm :D

GROOVY!!!!!
Has a good head bangin' feel to it and DOES stick my generation's melodic style! Well done on keepin' true to the 80s! I do have a small gripe though, and that would be some segments seem a bit out of place...pretty sure if you listen to it a bit more closely, you'll see what I am talking about.
Its nothing too major, just kinda turned me off for about 5 seconds, then it recovered NICELY!

If you were to ever do an underground or heavenly piece...make sure you stick true to 90s gaming for that one, namely the early and mid 90s...where the revolution of RPG's took place... >:=}

If you're a lil lost...google the RPG revolution.

Burn7 responds:

Heeeyyyy I'm glad you thought this was cool! I was going for a more "classic rock/jam" kinda vibe here. Eventually I made a sick synthbass '80's version that sounds all actionmovielike.

I'll definitely look into more RPG songs, I'm gonna need all the help I can get. Really the way I write all of my music is "Did Doom do it already? Then I'll just copy what Bobby Prince had,". Every single song I've ever written can be traced back directly to a doom level. It's much easier to hide the truth when I'm just doing a cover of a doom song, but every riff, every melody, every rhythm... All lifted from doom. Every single one, straight copypasted. The Pokemon/Zelda songs? Straight outta Doom. My entire Album? Basically just doom. Anything with my vocals? I just record the 1993 game then remix it to sound like a voice.

Feels and sounds like a bit of Vegeta's theme thrown in there...or is that just me? Even a slice of Absolute Perfect Cell -_- guess it could just be me...

D-Docolocolous responds:

I don't know either of those, so I couldn't say :p

Sitting here, smoking a cup of coffee and drinking a cigarette...listening to this beast at 10am...while on the clock. Well, all I can say is YAYSAUCE! My work day wont be so damn boring now!

SO! BDI should get in on a revision of this madness...perhaps an early prep for madness day? I could see this actually being used in a madness clip...just a total shitfest of slaughter and chaos.

Metaljonus responds:

Haha, glad you dig it dude!

Like Metal, Rock, BGM Revisions & Mixes. Comical Flashes, Parody's, and anything that will entertain me. I will critique to the fullest, add some ideas, pointers, and maybe even assist you in creation of high quality projects.
